The External Innovation Unit represents Biogen by establishing a global network with industry, academia and others to foster external collaborations, driving innovation while strengthening the neuroscience ecosystem.

LabCentral

LabCentral is a first-of-its-kind, shared laboratory space designed to launch life science and biotech start-ups. LabCentral provides the infrastructure entrepreneurs and innovators need to test out, challenge and nurture their ideas.

As a platinum sponsor, Biogen’s External Innovation Unit can nominate up to two early-stage companies each year to take up residence in LabCentral's Kendall Square facilities. Each Biogen-LabCentral Golden Ticket includes up to one year of bench space for one scientist and the benefits of LabCentral's shared infrastructure and services at no cost to the contest winner. Special consideration will be provided to proposals focused on neuroscience, neurodegeneration and areas related to Biogen research.
